❄️ Cold Weather Alert – Warming Station Open This Weekend ❄️
Due to the extremely cold temperatures forecasted for this weekend, a Warming Station will be open at the Madison County UF/IFAS Extension Office Saturday and Sunday nights to help keep our community safe and warm. 🧣🔥
🕔 Hours:
184 NW College Loop Madison, FL 32340
Open for registration from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
If no one registers to stay overnight, the station will close at 9:00 p.m.
Meals will not be served
Bring any comfort items you need

Due to a shortage of bus drivers, the following routes will be delayed until 7:45 tomorrow morning:
Bus #36 (Bus #29 will pick up) in the following areas: Jim & Bob, Agner Farm, Gibson Trl. Park, Pyrus, Country Kitchen, Mandina Ford Drive, Rocky Ford, Costmary, Shrine Club Rd. , Coffee Way, Celosia, Cattail, Dusty Miller, Reagan, Cottonwood, Ford Drive , and Johnson & Johnson
Bus #31 (Bus #37 will pick up) in the folowing areas: Georgetown ,SW Hall St. , Corner of Ada Lane, Jackson Ave, Christmas Tree,Ext., SW Brookwood Ave., Christmas Tree Lane, Summerset Way, Eagin Hill, Bentley Ave., Range, SW Happy Dr., Corner of Dinkins, SW Hudson St., SR Hwy 14 (Ganzy Funeral Home), Arnold St., Oak Estates, SW CR 360A , SW Allandale Trl.
Bus #35 (Bus #43 will pick up) in the following areas: SW Orange Ave., SW Bunker St., W. Pinckney St., Mickel St., Summerset Way, SW Safari Dr., Parramore St, Corner of Rutledge, Corner of Macon, Merritt Ave., Sumatra Ave., SW Sinclair, S First St. , SW Smith St.

Transportation Update - Bus #36 Delay
Please be advised that Bus #36, which runs the Country Kitchen route, will be delayed Monday morning, January 26.
Bus #29 will run this route instead. Students should be ready for pickup by 7:45 AM.

We are tracking a significant shift in weather that will impact our area starting this afternoon and continuing through Tuesday. Please take a moment to review the timeline below so your students are prepared for the bus stop and the week ahead.
1️⃣ TODAY (Sunday): Windy & Stormy 🌬️⛈️
What to expect: It will be breezy all day (Wind Advisory in effect). A line of strong storms is expected to move through later this afternoon and evening.
Timing: The most likely window for storms in our area is between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM ET.
2️⃣ MONDAY MORNING: The "Bus Stop" Chill 🚌❄️
The Forecast: As the rain clears, the cold air rushes in.
Monday Morning Lows: Temperatures will be near freezing (26-32°F), but the Wind Chill will feel like 17-25°F.
Action for Students: Please ensure your children are dressed in warm layers for the bus stop or walk to school. Hats, gloves, and heavy coats are highly recommended!
3️⃣ MONDAY NIGHT / TUESDAY: Hard Freeze Warning 🧊
The Threat: Monday night into Tuesday morning will be dangerously cold.
The Numbers: We are under a Freeze Watch and Extreme Cold Watch. Wind chills could drop into the single digits or teens (9-15°F).
Home Prep: Please remember to protect the 4 Ps:
P: People (Check on neighbors/grandparents)
P: Pets (Bring them inside!)
P: Plants (Cover or bring in sensitive plants)
P: Pipes (Wrap exposed pipes and drip faucets to prevent bursting)
