NOTICE OF TAX FOR SCHOOL
The Madison County School Board will soon consider a measure to impose a 1.5 mill property tax for the capital outlay projects listed herein.
This tax is in addition to the school board’s proposed tax of 4.595 mills for operating expenses and is proposed solely at the discretion of the school board.
The Capital Outlay tax will generate approximately $1,085,389 to be used for the following projects:
MAINTENANCE, RENOVATIONS AND REPAIR
Safety Corrections and ADA Compliance Requirements, including sidewalk safety;
District-Wide Renovations and Repairs;
Reimbursement of the maintenance, renovation, and repairs paid through the
General Fund as permitted by Florida Statute.
MOTOR VEHICLE PURCHASE
Payment 3 of 5 for lease purchase school buses;
Purchase of maintenance vehicles;
Purchase of vehicles to transport students.
NEW AND REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT
Purchase of Security Equipment;
Purchase of Food Service Equipment;
Purchase of School-Wide Equipment;
Furniture and Equipment;
Payment of Premiums for Property and Casualty Insurance Necessary to Insure
The Educational and Ancillary Plants of the School District
Insurance Premiums on District Plant
All concerned citizens are invited to a public hearing to be held on July 31, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
